Exploratory Research /Quickscan for Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)

In the design phase of construction projects, infrastructure works, and spatial developments, various factors must be considered. One of these is the potential presence of unexploded ordnance (UXO). According to the Dutch Working Conditions Decree (Arbobesluit, Article 2.26), project developers are legally required to account for UXO risks during the preparatory phase.

While a preliminary investigation is not mandatory during the execution phase, it does serve as a minimum safety document. It helps determine whether control measures regarding UXO are necessary to safeguard the health and safety of workers (Arbobesluit Article 4.10).
